Big Bear help the “Epsilon Engineers” to victory in the Land Rover 4x4 In Schools Challenge

The Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Challenge involves between three and six team members working together to design and build a radio controlled four-wheel drive vehicle.

The “Epsilon Engineers” made their own mould tools at school, and sourced their own sheet material, but approached Big Bear when they had difficulty in actually moulding the parts. Big Bear’s experienced thermoforming experts were happy to help and soon solved the issues and successfully moulded the parts for the team.

The Epsilon Engineers, the only all-female team, swept the floor, winning multiple awards:

• England Champions

• 2nd Place Overall

• Team Branding – for having the most consistent brand identity and a strong team presence.

• Social Media – for gaining the most likes for our team photo submission for an online challenge on Facebook (@Epsilon Engineers).

• Cyber Security – for writing a “thorough, analytical, and ‘by far’ the best” Cyber Security Strategy report.

Nia Schell, Team Manager said; “Thanks to Big Bear’s invaluable sponsorship and amazing support, the Epsilon Engineers had an extremely successful performance at the UK National Final event of the Land Rover 4x4 In Schools technology challenge yesterday, gaining us a place at the international finals in Abu Dhabi in December! Your support has been invaluable to us because, without Big Bear, we would not have been able to process this material and reach this stage in the competition!”
