History

Big Bear Plastic Products Ltd is a privately owned company, founded in 1998 by Gerald Bloom.

He previously founded and developed Midland Industrial Plastics Ltd, a major Tier 1 supplier of automotive interior trim parts to the automotive industry utilising and pioneering a wide range of advanced plastic moulding technologies.

MIP employed 1000 people across a variety of manufacturing sites and joint ventures when it was acquired by leading US manufacturer Textron Inc. The unique technical expertise and support of engineering colleagues from MIP remains available to Big Bear customers.

Big Bear operates in its own modern factory, and has invested in state of the art equipment. We are committed to investing in new technology and quality systems, and are accredited to ISO9001:2015 with additional experience of IATF16949.

Big Bear employs an experienced team of engineers and production staff, many of whom have developed their expertise in the automotive industry.
